5-Day Rio de Janeiro Itinerary for a Solo Black Woman

Let's redefine solo travel together!


Day 1: Hello Rio,
Arrival and Leme Beach

Arrive in Rio de Janeiro and check into your accommodation.
Relax on Leme Beach, soaking up the sun and people-watching. Enjoy a fresh coconut water and explore the lively beachfront scene. Leme is neighor of the famous Copacabana beach, but it has a more local vibes, plus a black owned beach service ( chairs, umbrelas and drinks ) named Rasta Beach, from where you can meet some cool people.

In the evening, consider explore the bohemian neighborhood of Santa Teresa, known for its colorful houses, charming streets, and artistic atmosphere. Take a tram ride for a unique experience. Enjoy a delicious dinner at a local restaurant in Santa Teresa, followed by live music or a cultural performance, we recommend a visit to Ago Bar da Encruza or Favela Hype, you`ll meet other travelers and locals that enjoy the night vibes of this bohemian neighborhood!


Day 2: Rio Treasures
Christ the Redeemer, Parque Lage e Sugar Loaf

Morning time, take a guided tour to visit the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the city. In the afternoon visit the Parque Lage , a lush oasis with collections of arts and a cozy coffee facing its iconic pool. If the day is sunny, the sunset must be at the top of Sugarloaf Mountain for stunning views of Rio's coastline and beaches. Enjoy a delicious dinner at one of many rooftops in the city, like Xian Cuisine.



Day 3: For the Culture
Rio Black Immersion + Selaron Steps

Immerse in Rio's African heritage with a walk through Little Africa, exploring historical sites like Valongo Wharf and Pedra do Sal. Enjoy delicious lunch at Casa Omolokum or Dois de Fevereiro both showcase the afrobrazilian cuisine, you can try Moqueca ( fish stew), Acarajé, Feijoada and much more. Then, ascend the vibrant Selarón Steps, a colorful mosaic staircase offering stunning city views. Not far from there you`ll see colorful street arts and souvenirs shops!


Day 4: Rio Vibes
Sunset & Samba Night Tour

Experience Rio's magic with a sunset boat cruise through Guanabara Bay, admiring iconic landmarks as the sky transforms. Afterward, immerse yourself in guided tour to Lapa's vibrant nightlife, dancing to infectious samba rhythms and enjoying the city's bohemian spirit.



Day 5: Magic of Nature
Tijuca Forest + Departure

Embark on an guided adventure through the Tijuca Forest, a lush oasis right in the city. Hike through trails, discover hidden waterfalls, and soak in the vibrant greenery. Experience the magic of nature just a stone's throw away from the bustling city. After five days well lived in the wonderful,it`s time to depart from Rio de Janeiro, taking home unforgettable memories of your Brazilian adventure.
